"True grit is making a decision and standing by it, doing what must be done. No moral man can have peace of mind if he leaves undone what he knows he should have done."
Do you have grit?
If your not sure or find yourself pondering, I have good news, you have grit. First of all you made it through 2020, constantly assessing and making the necessary changes to get through some really tough times. Your a hard worker, and understands what it takes to get things done; however, it is not always easy. Sometimes we can be derailed so hard that it can leave us on the sidelines wrestling with our own thoughts. Before you you know it our lives become out of balance.
When we slip away from the harmony of balance our energy levels become fatigued, stressed, and anxious. We sometimes feel as though we have become detached to our sense of purpose. When we are feeling that low, it becomes very difficult to see any opportunities; this is where most people abandon their goals. Are you ready to regain more life balance?
First off, give yourself the credit you deserve. You pay the bills, raise your family, make the daily grind at work, wake up super early, work long hours, keep a roof over your head, and in general make life happen; you have grit.
Regaining balance begins with self-awareness. Identify and know which dimension in life balance is deficient. Is it spiritual, mental, physical, social? Selfcare is a skillset, and all dimensions need to be nourished to maintain a harmonious balanced life. Bringing balance back into any of these dimensions not only will make you feel better, but elevate you out of that low energetic state, out of that fog, and into a place of mental clarity. Now, opportunities become clear, and achieving one's goal will be accomplished with greater success.
So, I challenge you. In each dimension of life balance, commit to one thing that you can do starting today, to bring more balance back. You can learn more about the four dimensions of life balance in the book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Dr. Stephen Covey.
