What truly matters in life is our "why", our purpose; this is where we experience a fulfilled life. What do I want out of life? Who am I? What am I passionate about? These are just a few questions that some of us may have regarding “life’s purpose.” The thing is that when we are living with a deep sense of meaning, we live are more fulfilled life; this is what living with purpose is all about. Let’s unravel some of these questions. Before we dig a little deeper it is important to remember that purpose is something that we create, and once we begin living with our purpose, we will feel a universal pull, turning us into an unstoppable force. I call this “tickling my brain,” because it is the stimulus that motivates us to take action, receive happiness, and continue to create our purpose. What do I want out of life? This question can be answered a few ways, but I believe that one way to figure this out is to remove the clutter in our mind. This can be done through a meditation, going for a walk or whatever works for you. Then, sit down and begin to define what happiness is to you. Do this in your own words, you are your own authority and the definition of happiness relates to your well-being. Be aware of this pitfall, “selfish,” it is not selfish, it is self-care and this is important to distinguish. Through this process it may become clear as to exactly what you don’t want which will create even more clarity of what you do want. With your definition of happiness, begin identifying the things you want out of life that align with your definition; then identify what actions you are willing to take to start manifesting what you want. Align your values with your actions, when you do this, you will have more motivation and will not be compromising your values. Who am I? To answer this question, again declutter the mind, and take an objective deep inner look. What are your gifts? What are your talents? Be kind to yourself and release any judgment you may have about yourself. Who you are, lies in your gifts/talents, and the world is ready to receive you. Your talents, gifts, values, definition of happiness along with your actions taken, will allow you to breakthrough to what your purpose is. “As is a tale, so is life: not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters.” -Seneca- Take the time you need; this is a short exercise on how to create one’s purpose. It takes a deep inner reflection to really bring your purpose to the surface. There may be inner blocks keeping you from creating the clarity you need, judgments and inner-critics. Remember to be kind to yourself, give yourself permission to lead your best life. Super Awesome Stuff! Jeff Saal CPC,ELI-MP Are you ready to create the life that you want, or curious about coaching?
