"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves."
-Viktor Frankl-
Prisons can take many shapes other than bricks and barbwire. Many of us navigate through our lives creating our own personal prison, keeping us from experiencing life to it's fullest. We live by societies expectations, doing what we "have" to do, versus doing what we want to do. Some of us remain in toxic relationships, careers we can't stand, or in a deep rut unable to see any opportunity for growth.

Whether a person is aware of their current state of affairs or not, the fact is we all choose to be exactly where we are. One of my favorite quotes, "all that we are is a result of what we have thought." -Buddha. This makes complete sense, each one of us are where we are,  based on how we think; the key element toward make the change that you want is to have awareness on your thoughts.

Breaking through our internal anchoring chains requires being proactive in our awareness on our thoughts. How we view ourselves, how we talk to ourselves is consequential toward creating change. When you re-frame your mind, you begin to re-frame your life. Viktor Frankl states that we all have the freedom to choose. How powerful is that, knowing we have this personal freedom to choose!

Raise awareness toward thinking that limits your ability to make progress. Limiting thoughts are molded in fear, and it is this fear that feeds the stories we tell ourselves. Thoughts of I'm not good enough, I'm to old for this, I'm to young for this, I'm afraid of being judged, I've already put too much time into this, I'm going to lose this, etc, are all thoughts that impede growth. The fear in those thoughts are a myth, and designed to keep you safe, right where you are at. Guess what, the good news is you have the freedom to choose a different story.

Re-framing our mental script takes time, we have trained ourselves to think a certain way our entire life, until now. Be kind to yourself, know that you are worthy, you are not to old or young, you are good enough, and that you will be ok. Take some time and figure out what it is that you actually want, meditate on it. What would actually bring more satisfaction in your life? When you start to feel fear creep in, challenge those limiting thoughts, you will soon learn that there is no truth in those limiting beliefs.

This is your amazing life! Raise you levels of awareness to a place of acceptance. It is here when you begin to release inner judgment, and break free of that internal prison. Imagine the weight being lifted, being able to breath, and living with more satisfaction in your life.
