"It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live"
The only moment in life that we have is the present moment. The future is something that we shape, but we can sometimes get lost in the present moment. We can become so future focused that we generate unwanted emotions of anxiety, fear, or worry. It is being attached to the outcome that we find ourselves swimming for the perfect answer, or even the perfect decision.
Living today for tomorrow is creating plans of action which lead to achieving goals. It is making decisions in the present moment related to one's set goal, and redirecting our attachment to the actions that we take. Our success derives within our journey, celebrating each action taken, and decision made leading us toward our goals. We can then experience a personal freedom from our deep core, releasing fear, worry and doubt.
Fear can sink it's teeth into our very core, keeping us from making the progress that we want. There are many factors that lead to fear which can take us out of our present moment. One of these factors is the fear of death. The fact is, death does not discriminate, it will find all of us at some point along our journey. One question which I ponder often is "how old are we supposed to live?' In conclusion to this question, it is not a matter of which age we live too, but how we are living right now.
"You are scared of dying -and tell me, is the kind of life you lead any different than being dead"
When we put our mortality in perspective, we can identify what is truly meaningful in our lives. We experience greater happiness, peace, and joy when we are living in the "now". Living with a deep sense of meaning will generate these emotions, as that we are living a life that we create and want.
So, make plans, set goals, passionately define your purpose, and do this by being attached to the action that you take, not the final outcome. The final outcome may come as you ideally planned for it, or it may take a different shape, the only thing we can control is what we are doing in the present moment. Let's begin living today for tomorrow.
