"If your compassion does not include yourself, it is incomplete."
-Jack Kornfield-
You have worked hard amidst a super challenging, ever changing environment.  Perhaps dealing with the stressors of uncertainty, trying to make ends meat, or even trying to live a life with some normality. Before you know it, you feel emotionally and physically drained. This stress takes its toll on your physical, mental, and emotional health. When we feel like this it can be very difficult to know where to start in replenishing our energy. It is key to practice self-care, when we do this we develop more effective outcomes, are happier, function at a higher level, and sharpen our focus.

Self-care begins with being compassionate to ourselves. Many people feel as though self-care is selfish, which is a myth within itself; however this attitude prevents oneself from participating in what may be the most important practice in living one's bets life.

Being compassionate to yourself gives you permission to address your physical, mental, and emotional needs. If we create a habit out of self-care, the chances of "running on empty" are much lower, this is do to understanding the importance of addressing the areas in our lives that need nurturing.

Exercise, this  may come easier to some folks than others; I find myself deficient in this area at times. When physically feel better, our energetic levels are much higher. Physical exercise not only helps us manage physical pain but also manage our stress levels.

Take the time to address your emotional/mental state. Get a massage, go fishing, go for a hike, meet up with some friends over a beer, laugh whatever it takes for you to replenish your emotional/mental health. Remember, out thinking controls our behavior, focus on the areas in your life that you can control. This will help keep at bay worry, anxiety, frustration, anger, blame, and that overall feeling of being out of control.

Self-care is so important in functioning at an optimal state. Consider scheduling this time for yourself, do this weekly. Make yourself a priority.
